12 years is a very long time in software development, and I'm sorry to say I think it's showing in Kerio. We picked Kerio because it had all of the features we wanted that were absent in the competition and at a good cost. We switched to Kerio in 2009 after trialling the competition mentioned here. We all appreciate developments on the underpinnings, but everyone loves the shiny stuff, and that is all that most bosses see. Maybe options to customise the web mail login screen that doesn't involve butchering config files and a refreshed and up to date looking web mail? Hey, lets throw in attachment linking, that would be nice too. Domains User accounts Directory service Securing Kerio Connect Kerio Connect Help System v 9.3.
KERIO CONNECT MAINTENANCE TODAY ANDROID
A chat client that can run on iOS and Android (Icewarp again). Configure and secure Kerio Connect according to your requirements. I'd love all of that too plus a decent desktop chat client and no Pidgin just does not cut it. Or he wants to be able to search email quickly from within Outlook (Exchange). Or he'll say he wants the ability to block users access to email during specific evening/weekend hours to force is staff to take time out (MDaemon). If my boss asked me what we're paying maintenance for and I told him "well, Kerio supports TLS1.3" he'd say he didn't give a rats ass about that because he's seen Video Calls from within the web client where external guests can also join (IceWarp) and wants that. The features I get asked about are already out there within your competitors, you'd hardly be giving anything away to them. Ok so while it is good to know that work is ongoing with the stuff we don't see, I don't get why there is no roadmap. If GFI has staff on this forum, hear your users out! I generally like Kerio Connect, it does most of what I need but as time marches on it has begun to grow stale while the competition evolves. More and more often when I log on to the message boards I see threads about migrating to other platforms and it really isn't surprising to see why. As shocking as this is, I wouldn't mind so much if GFI was releasing updates with feature improvements a few times a year but sadly that isn't the case. I'm probably late to this party as I know some time last year GFI decided to increase the rates on maintenance but I just noticed my server of 200 accounts went up by 50%!!!. I just wanted to rant a little bit about the cost of software maintenance for Kerio.
